30 Day Challenge: Day 4

So here comes day 4 of the 30-Day Challenge! This one will be significantly easier than the last- I love food a little too much ^^; So much, in fact, that I'm not going to put this list in any particular order, because it'd be way too hard to figure out whether I like cheesecake or potato salad more :P
Here's the rundown:

Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.
Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.

Day 9 – 10 things you will never do in lolita.
Day 10 – What’s in your bag?
Day 11 – One day in your lolita life in pictures.
Day 12 – A picture of yourself before lolita came in to your life.
Day 13 – A picture of your favorite sweets.
Day 14 – A picture of your dream item.
Day 15 – A picture of your last lolita purchase.
Day 16 – Your outfit for the day.
Day 17 – What do you want more then anything right now?
Day 18 – A picture of your favorite lolita style.
Day 19 – What’s in your make-up bag?
Day 20 – A picture of a lolita friend.
Day 21 – Your favorite fictional lolita.

Day 29 – A picture of a lolita you would love to meet for real.
Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.
1.) Cheesecake!! Such a sweet desert, but it's so terrible I hardly ever have it- it's for special occasions only :P

2.) Pancakes! With lots of toppings!!
3.) Marshmallows- especially strawberry!! Bonus if they're made into s'mores :)

4.) Just about ANYTHING chocolate!!  Ice cream, chocolate bars, truffles... the only thing is, I don't like dark chocolate, which seems to make up a large percentage of the "chocolate population" :P
5.) ICE CREAM ICE CREAM ICE CREAM!! I've been eating a bit too much of it, with the weather warming up and summer approaching here in the northern hemisphere. It's just SO good!!
6.) Frappes/smoothies! Apparently, frappes aren't very common in other areas, so for the unacquainted, frappes are basically smoothies, but thicker and made from ice cream. I like mint flavored frappes the best!! <3
7.) Ramen/udon noodles. Whenever I have a half day at school and end up making my own lunch, I like to have a bowl of these things with my San-X panda chopsticks (I'm not too familiar with the character so unfortunately I can't give an exact name, sorry!!). Does this make me a giant weeaboo? Probably, but once you obsess over a fashion of Japanese origin, their music, their games, etc etc for several years, you just stop caring :P
8.) Churros!! One of my favorite carnival junk foods! They're one of the only super cinnamon-y things I really love (I normally am not crazy for cinnamon, but I certainly don't dislike it!!).
9.) Corndogs!! They're right up there with churros for favorite terrible-for-you carnival junk, and I just love them!! When I'm having a bad day, I like to eat one of the frozen kinds for a meal. :)
10.) Potato salad! ...By far the most unremarkable item on this list xD They're such a delicious picnic food there, and I do love it. :)

That's all for today!! Thanks for reading and look forward to tomorrow!!

30 Day Challenge: Day 3

Hey guys!! So, here comes what will probably be one of the more difficult challenges for me in the 30-day Challenge: 10 things I hate in Lolita. Why will this be so hard? Well, honestly... I'm not really picky. I like most everything about Lolita, from the dresses adorned with bows upon bows that Angelic Pretty makes to the dark, Gothic prints Moi Meme Moitie puts out. Some of it might not be my style, sure, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
So, many of these are going to be no-brainers, or only loosely related to Lolita. I apologize for that, but please enjoy nonetheless!!
As usual, here's a run-down of the challenge:
Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.
Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.
Day 4 – 10 different kinds of food you like.
Day 5 – 10 items from your wishlist.
Day 6 – 10 things you can’t live without in lolita.
Day 7 – 10 people who inspire your lolita style.
Day 8 – 10 songs that inspire you for lolita.
Day 22 – A picture of your room.
Day 23 – A picture of your handwriting.
Day 24 – A picture of you from a meet.
Day 25 – Your favorite lolita themed artwork.
Day 26 – Your Facebook profile picture.
Day 27 – One song that fits your favorite lolita style.
Day 28 – A picture of the perfect lolita location.
Day 29 – A picture of a lolita you would love to meet for real.
Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.

1.) Lace monsters!! I know these aren't even technically considered Lolita, so I guess what I should be saying is that it bugs me when people call them Lolita. I know lots of people don't know any better, but when an un-informed friend or relative excitedly shows me a picture of a Milanoo Lolita and says "Look Kaley!! It's that Lolita thing you like!" I just can't help but think "Do they really think my dresses resemble THAT?" I don't want to sound like a jerk, because frankly any interest my friends or relatives take in my fashion is great to me, but... it just bothers me.

2.) Rude people! Although this applies everywhere... Although I'm constantly defending the character of the community, as most of the people I've met have been nothing but nice, there are, of course, a few jerks on EGL. I hate running into people like that, because I feel like since most Lolitas are older, we should all be mature enough to keep our manners in check. In other words... these people make me lose faith in humanity, I guess you could say xD

3.) There has been ONE print I've truly disliked, and that would be that neon cupcake print Angelic Pretty put out a while ago (I can't even remember the name!!). With most prints, while I might not like some parts, I can almost always see the charm (ie, the cute little animals in Happy Garden, the rarity of Iron Gate), but with that print... I just don't see it. At all. Maybe it's because I don't like neon shades?

4.) Knee socks! I love how they LOOK, but I just hate wearing them, because I always end up spending half my time adjusting them.
...Which is why I usually stick to tights. :P

5.) The price!! I know I've said before I think the price is necessary, but... I would like it if Lolita was cheaper. Certainly not lower in quality, which is realistically what would have to happen, but I'd like to be able to afford a dress without having to scrounge and save for months.

6.) Some public reaction. I LOVE some reactions, especially those from elderly people or little kids, but sometimes... I just want to wear my frills in peace. Without any catcalls or excessive staring, please. I know it's unrealistic to think I could dress like a giant cupcake and expect NOT to get stares, but I can dream, can't I? :P

7.) How difficult it is to wash some Lolita!! I have quite a few dresses that HAVE to be dry-cleaned, and let me tell you, it is such a pain to have to haul those dresses to the dry cleaners every few weeks and it just kills my budget to have to pay for it!! I wish everything could just be machine washed and line dried, but I know that would kill a bunch of my prints...

Well, honestly... that's really all I can think of when it comes to what I hate in the fashion!! Truly, I do love this fashion a bit too much. The community is great and full of wonderful people, the dresses are super diverse and range from cute and sweet to dark and enchanting, and for the most part, wearing it is SO much fun!! Sorry for the premature ending here, but I'll definitely be able to fill all 10 spots tomorrow!! It's about food! I love food!!

30 Day Challenge: Day 2

This 30 day challenge is working out great thus far!! After yesterday's post, I went upstairs, took out my notebook, and for the first time in weeks I was able to write!! Granted, it was only two pages, but nonetheless it was something.
As a reminder, here's the challenges of the 30-day challenge again:

Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.
Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.
Day 4 – 10 different kinds of food you like.
Day 5 – 10 items from your wishlist.
Day 6 – 10 things you can’t live without in lolita.
Day 7 – 10 people who inspire your lolita style.
Day 8 – 10 songs that inspire you for lolita.
Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.

So without further ado, here's day two of the challenge: 10 things I love in Lolita!!

1.) I know I said this yesterday in the "Lolita bubble" post, but I just can't emphasize it enough- I just love love LOVE animal prints!! (Also as was said yesterday, I also love animals... in fact, I just had to re-type the last few sentences because my little beaglier finds it funny to bang her head against my keyboard to get attention. xD She's such a sweetheart!!)

2.) Handmade pieces!! I know brand names are pretty big now, but some of my favorite pieces I've seen were handmade. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it, but I once saw an absolutely adorable gray jsk made with a thick winter material and with the black silhouette of a fawn appliqued on it. I wish Innocent World sold something like it, because it was amazing!! Also, Oli of the Lemontree recently had a post in which she wore an adorable handmade polka dot skirt, which paired with all the accessories she wore just showed how even a simpler handmade piece can be made simply amazing with the right accessories!! Speaking of which...

3.) Accessories!! I just love Lolita accessories. I like the more classic-looking headbows and  rings that Innocent World makes, and BABY and AP's sweet plastic jewelry are all simply darling!!

4.) The community! For some reason I've never quite been able to fully grasp, the Lolita community has a bad rep of being a bunch of "drama llamas." I just don't agree with this. Almost all of the girls I've met have been nothing but sweet, and honestly the only time I ever see a person being attacked is because of their crappy attitudes- and if they're being attacked based on how they dress, they usually have a poor attitude to go with it. On the flip side, if a girl is attacked for how she dresses but shows willingness to learn and takes the criticisms with grace, people usually stop attacking her and, in fact, praise her for her amazing attitude. I just love seeing cases like that- it's the best of the saying, "Kill them with kindness!", except in this case everybody's happy in the end. :)

5.) The blogs! I read so many Lolita blogs- too many, in fact. Lolita Charm, F Yeah Lolita, Her Curious Elegance, Starre Princess (which isn't really Lolita but hime gal is related to Lolita and Mana often incorporates Lolita dresses and accessories into her outfits)... I love all these blogs and more!! I totally admit, when I'm bored in my media class, I often times sneak onto some Lolita blogs to read the archives... don't judge me! :P

6.) The diversity!! With most fashions, like, say, punk there's usually one accepted general aesthetic. With Lolita, however, there's something for everybody- for girls who like cute things there's sweet of course, then there's gothic for those more interested in the darker side, classic for girls who enjoy the more refined things in Lolita or women who like Lolita but want something more mature, casual for girls who don't feel like going all the way... I feel like Lolita is definitely the most diverse fashion I've been involved in, and I love it!!

7.) Sweet prints! I know a lot of people don't like them- super tacky toys marching across the hems of your skirt, deer playing on the bodice, candy castles all around- but I just adore sweet prints. They're just so interesting to look at, and even if a lot of "normal" people might think they look stupid... well, "normal" people think a lot of things look stupid, and super watered-down Lolita.

8.) Gal makeup in Lolita!! I know lots of people don't care for gal-style makeup, but I think it works wonderfully in hime Lolita or OTT sweet!! It's a very fresh and interesting twist to the usual light makeup in Lolita. Actually, really and kind of well-done dramatic makeup in Lolita is super cool. :)

9.) The modesty!! As you all might know, I'm very much anti-slut shaming, so I'm not about to gripe about "Oh, all Americans dress like hookers and I just want to be a ~*~pure innocent maiden~*~. No, I actually admire those girls who "dress like hookers-" no matter what people say, these "sluts" aren't really accepted by most of society, so it actually takes some guts to dress like that. It's just that I personally feel more comfortable covered up- I own a few shorter skirts, but whenever I wear them I find myself constantly pulling at the hem because "oh, what if somebody can see my underwear?!" (Even if my friends and family are constantly assuring me I'm fine, and that it wouldn't even matter because I'm wearing opaque tights underneath... I'm just paranoid xD) So, while I salute those girls who can wear short skirts and tight tops in public and not give a crap what people say, I myself feel more comfortable in longer skirts. :)

10.) (Most of) the public reaction!! Now, I don't mean this in an attention-seeking sort of way- oftentimes, I feel put off from wearing Lolita in public places because of all the stares and the occasional negative comment (besides school- people are so used to my craziness that I hardly get a sideways glance anymore!!). I know I can't pull on a skirt full of cakes and cupcakes and expect NOT to be started at, but in my ideal world I would be able to wear Lolita to the mall without being stared at or noticed more than any other person. To me, I find it beautiful, and that's enough. But still, some of the comments I've gotten have just been SO amazing!! I can't lie, even if I would like to wear my frills in peace, I feel happy every time somebody calls me cute, or an elderly woman get excited because I have petticoats, or, my favorite, when little kids think I'm a princess!! (Me, a princess?! :D) Recently, a friend of mine told me that a friend of hers who I have not met was inspired by what I wear and has recently been drawing girls who "look like me." Knowing that I inspired somebody just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy... it's just such an amazing feeling!!

I apologize for the long, drawn-out answers, but there's just so many things I love about Lolita!! Tomorrow's prompt, things I hate about Lolita, will be a bit more challenging, but I'll try my best!! :)

30 Day Challenge: Start!!

So, starting today, due to my ongoing writer's block, I've decided to participate in the 30-day Lolita blogging challenge!! (have you noticed my lack of posts lately? Well, it's because I've been in a bit of a funk lately that'll hopefully be over by the time I'm done with this challenge!) I heard about this challenge from Lolita Charm, and it just seems like such a good idea! The challenge goes as follows:

Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.
Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.
Day 4 – 10 different kinds of food you like.
Day 5 – 10 items from your wishlist.
Day 6 – 10 things you can’t live without in lolita.
Day 7 – 10 people who inspire your lolita style.
Day 8 – 10 songs that inspire you for lolita.
Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.

So, here goes day one: ten things about my Lolita bubble!! I'm not entirely sure what this means, so I'm just going to describe things about my personal style or preferences in Lolita~
1.) I love love LOVE prints with animals on them!! Or, at least, things that resemble animals. You can tell by some of my favorite prints: Milky-Chan, Sugary Carnival, Vanilla-Chan... they're all so cute!! This might be because I love animals so much in real life (especially my darling rat, Harry!!). I swear, if Angelic Pretty ever made a rat and/or mouse print... I'd be in heaven!!

2.) I don't really like shoes with higher heels. That is, I like how they LOOK, but I can't wear them personally. I can go really high with wedges, platforms and even chunkier heels, but if you give me a pair of stilletoes I just teeter over like a tree :P

3.) I've recently come to ADORE Angelic Pretty. When I first got into Lolita, I was all about classic, but I've come to adore sweet just as much, if not more. Of course, I still get all starry-eyed whenever I see a girl wearing Innocent World, but I'm starting to feel like sweet is more ME.

4.) I adore OTT sweet. It's so interesting to look at and examine all the different details of an outfit... but at the same time, I can't stand it when I see a failed OTT outfit!! Like, if somebody doesn't go all-out and half-asses it with maybe two or three bows instead of the dozen usually found in OTT sweet, or one ring and a couple of bracelets... it's all or nothing with OTT!!

5.) I also love fusion styles. Fairy-kei mixed with Lolita and hime with Lolita are my favorites :)

6.) When I first found Lolita, I found out about it through the community and thought that Lolita=black and white maid dresses. In fact, I almost embarrassed myself on my 13th birthday by buying a lace monster with my birthday money but my parents talked me out of it. Thank god, because soon after I discovered real Lolita and became enchanted even more by what the actual style was like!!

7.) I've never been to a local meet-up before, but I'd really like to! With any luck, I'll be able to attend one soon!!

8.) Cardigans are one of my favorite things in Lolita. They look pretty casual, yes, but they're so damn cute!! My favorite outfit combination is probably a jumperskirt with no blouse, tights, shoes and a cardigan. It's cute, comfy, and a little more mature looking than it would be with the blouse, I think. :)
9.) I'd like to wear Lolita most every day, ultimately. I'm glad to say, though, that while wearing Lolita used to be once every other week affair, I can now wear it two or three times a week!! :D

10.) My dream dress at the moment is Milky-chan... but I know I can't fit or afford the real thing so I might be purchasing a replica soon :3

Also, in my coming to terms with my liking cuter styles, I'm going to be giving my blog a makeover. Expect more changes to the layout soon!!

The Time and the Place

There has been a post similar to this at Sniper Nyan's blog- which, I have to admit, I enjoy reading immensely despite her past in the Lolita community), so think of this as an extension to that post, if you will.
I really think a location can make an outfit. I don't necessarily believe it can break it (except in a few cases; ie wearing shiro Lolita to a wedding or OTT sweet to work) but if you think about it, most of the best photoshoots take place in areas that compliment the model and her outfit (though I have to say, shoots where the location purposely contrasts the outfit are very cool too!). Country Lolitas in flower fields, pirate and sailor Lolitas in the middle of the ocean on a boat... it's all very romantic imagery, isn't it? With summer vacation coming up, many people in the US at least will have a lot of time on their hands to go to all sorts of places- meaning lots of locations to dress up to!!
Here's a list of common summer locations and specific dresses or general looks I think would look simply lovely:

The amusement park:
Of course, the first thing that pops to mind is the infamous Sugary Carnival!
In the summer heat, however, I wouldn't recommend going all out with the pastel wigs and brand socks and what not. Rather, I think that the Sugary Carnival skirt with a cute cutsew and possibly bare legs and cutesy sandals or flats would look good. For accessories, I'd say anything goes for rings and nails and such (as I don't believe you'll find yourself doing much manual labor at the amusement park!!) but if you're going to be riding roller coasters, I personally would keep a small headbow. I've personally never worn a HUGE OTT bow to an amusement park before, but I can imagine the wind would blow it off rather quickly. I'm also imagining a cute beret, though again if you're structuring you're hair style around it and don't want to take it on and off for roller coasters I'd say go for something smaller. For hair, I 'd say light curls would be the way to go! I'd personally recommend bringing a parasol if you're going to be doing a lot of walking and waiting in line unless there's plenty of shady places (you wouldn't want to damage your beautiful skin!) or maybe even a fan. Be sure to drink plenty of water and use sunblock!!

The beach:
Isn't it obvious? Sailor Lolita will always be super cute for the beach!!
The OP would look simply darling with a couple of small hair accessories, or if you want to protect your delicate skin maybe a huge, floppy hat (I feel like this would work especially well for more classic-style dresses!!). If you want to walk around near the sea but don't want to burn and feel a hat wouldn't work for you, a parasol is always a good choice (and sunblock, but that's a give ;P). You could break a few rules and pair your OP with white sandals (which I always find to be perfect for summer!). If you want to swim, BABY released some frilly bathing suits a couple years back, but if you can't fit into those or just don't want to drop $150+ on a bathing suit just look around for suits with cute patterns. I recently saw a super cute black and white polka dot bathing suit that was very retro at a local store!!

Ice cream parlor:
Victoria Suzzanne of Lolita Charm recently did a post on the recent trend with super cute pastels that almost resemble ice cream that MILK is doing. In my opinion, these prints and items are simply darling!! They aren't strictly Lolita, sure, but are could easily be coordinated into a Lolita outfit (I would LOVE to use that cardigan in a sort of fairy-kei style Lolita outfit, or that bag, or those earrings...!). And what better place to wear these super-sweet dresses so reminiscent of ice cream than to an ice cream parlor?

Unfortunately, as I'm posting this from school and have rather limited web access I was unable to obtain a better picture of the Bodyline skirt, but if you could see it better I'm sure you would agree it's just perfect for a sweet Lolita to wear to an ice cream shop!! It has all sorts of creamy treats featured in the print near the hem, and the color itself is reminiscent of ice cream. The two MILK pictures are coords I pulled from the website and while the cutsew in the first one might not work too well for Lolita, the accessories certainly would!! Pretty much everything about the second one could easily be incorporated into a Lolita outfit, the the black on the t-shirt makes it say less "ice cream" and more "retro." Still, absolutely adorable nonetheless!! :)
If you want to go a step further, it'd be super cool to even coordinate your ice cream with your outfit! I love all flavors, so I'm totally guilty of doing this- specifically, I've gotten strawberry when I was wearing pink, and mint when I had some mint accessories. I think a group picture of Lolita with the aforementioned Bodyline print, each with a flavor of ice cream that corresponds with the color of the print their wearing, would be simply darling. :)

Of course, there are plenty of other places people could go during the summer- picnics, museums, the city- but I feel this post is long enough as it is so I'm going to cut it here. Perhaps I'll do a part two later, or maybe even something similar to this for other seasons? If you have any ideas for prints/dresses to wear to certain places, please suggest it in the comments!!

From an Ugly Duckling to a Princess

I was not an attractive kid. From first to most of eighth grade, I was such a tomboy it was ridiculous. I hated anything girly, played around in the mud, only ever played video games (because they were just oh-so-MANLY) and refused to wear a skirt except on VERY special occasions. I wasn't just a tomboy, though- I was just a dirty, nasty child (though that's perfectly acceptable for normal kids, this is 12-year-old me we're talking about here, and you haven't heard the worst of it). I showered as little as my parents would let me, ate terribly and never exercised and developed a weight problem, and had acne the size of mountains all over my face. At twelve years old.
Finally, when I was fourteen I discovered Lolita. Actually, as embarrassing as this may be, my first exposure to Lolita wasn't actually Lolita- it was one of those cheap black and white maid dresses attempting to pass as Lolita, and I found it on a cosplay site as I fancied myself an otaku at the time (something that FINALLY ended freshman year and I am, unfortunately, still living down to today... and yes, I was one of THOSE otaku who mixed Japanese words into English sentences and wanted nothing more than to move to motherland Japan someday where I could eat ramen and be a geisha-samurai-ninja >.>). Nonetheless, I do remember that the model for this dress was quite beautiful herself, and suddenly I was a little more inspired to take care of myself. I started washing more often, and for the first time since Kindergarten I wore a casual skirt to school!
When I discovered real Lolita through EGL upon attempting to get further information on this beautiful look, I was enamored. I wanted to be as beautiful as all these girls in frilly dresses, and for once in my life I wanted to wear frilly dresses and act like a goddamn lady! I'm sure my parents and everyone around me thought I was insane, as I started buying and wearing skirts and (gasp!) pink clothes and accessories! I actively sought out Hello Kitty and cute merchandise I would've scoffed at as "stupid girl stuff" not two years ago. But, for the first time in my life, I was REALLY happy.
I admit, I might have been just flat-out denying my femininity for that "tomboy" period of my life. I clearly remember watching girls at indoor recess doing each other's hair, and being jealous that I couldn't go over and ask them (because that would've just RUINED my reputation, of course!!). So, when Lolita came along and I realized I was at the age where it was socially acceptable to wear makeup and dress up whenever the hell I wanted to, it was like a revelation to me. Today I wonder, could Lolita have changed me like it did had I discovered it two years before? Or two years later?
Today, I am not the person I used to be (contrary to what many of the people who attended elementary school with me seem to think... remember that weeaboo thing I mentioned earlier? That reputation's stuck with me, unfortunately). I do what I want to do, without fear of what people have to say. I openly admit if I like something, even if it's not time "image" I want. As for physical appearance, I believe I've done well! In the past three years, I've cleared up my face considerably (though my complexions far from perfect, I'm working on clearing it up and I usually wear makeup to cover it up anyhow!), I shower daily now (thank god... it's SO embarrassing thinking back to how disgusting I must have been), I know how to coordinate a decent outfit, and since discovering Lolita I've lost around 40 pounds!
I admit, I'm still far from physically perfect. Now that my hair's growing out a bit, I'm JUST learning how to do things with it, I'm still a mite overweight (my overall goal weight that I hope to reach this summer is 120!), due to being a teenager I occasionally get zits and I would like to work on my public speaking skills a bit, but as for my emotions? I've never been happier.
Even if I'm not all the way there yet, I truly feel like I've grown from an Ugly Duckling to a Princess.
That's my Lolita "origin story!" Does anybody else have one? I love to hear stories of how people came to love certain fashions, so if you've got one, please do tell! :)

Poupee Girl

Some of you may have heard of the infamous Poupee Girl. For those of you not in the know, Poupee Girl is a Japanese site where you get an adorable avatar to dress up. You can get new items for your avatar by posting pictures of your clothes, commenting on other people's items to get "ribbons" (the currency in Poupee Girl) and dressing up your avatar every day. The site is very popular with Lolitas and the j-fashion scene in particular because there are lots of Lolita clothes in addition to normal clothes. In fact, I've seen people rock all styles of Poupee- steampunk, Fairy-kei, mori girl, all types of Lolita- there's hardly a limit to what style you can dress on Poupee.

Another reason many Lolitas use Poupee is the clothes-posting feature I mentioned earlier. Who doesn't want to be complimented on the cute things they buy? And bonus, you get in-game money for it, and everybody's doing it so you don't feel like a show-off for saying "hey, look at this cute new pink umbrella I got the other day!" I've found that in Poupee Girl, alternative clothes, especially Lolita clothes, are the ones that tend to get the most compliments/hits.

I've had a Poupee Girl account for a while, but just recently I've re-joined and started actively posting once again. When I first joined, I didn't have a lot of cute clothes to post (or at least clothes I wouldn't be totally ashamed to post- who goes on Poupee Girl to see old, baggy, paint-splattered work t-shirts?!), but since then I've been far more actively working on my wardrobe (make-up arsenal/techniques, coordination skills, etc.), so I felt now was a far more appropriate time to join!! Of course, not everything I post is SUPER cute (I'm still a poor high school student and my closet is filled with mildly cute, albeit mediocre things), but at least I'm no longer sitting in front of my drawer saying to myself "Holy crap, that thing's ugly... but I really need the ribbons! Before the blouse sells out!!"

Overall, I'd say that if you're into fashion and would like to show off your arsenal of cute clothes, definitely join Poupee Girl!! It's a fun, cute website that, while it may not be for everyone (I know I'm having a rather hard time getting started, and it is a bit discouraging to see all these super well-dressed veterans while I'm still stuck in my n00b rags!), is definitely a fun thing to do in your spare time!! :)

BTW, although this goes for any post, I feel that for this post in particular it should be said (as these are individual's avatars I'm showing here):
I've found all these pictures across various places of the internet, and it's very difficult for me to trace the source. If anybody could tell me where these pictures come from, or if you would like a picture taken down, please don't hesitate to ask! I don't own any of the images and I always feel super guilty using them without credit, so if there's any info at all I want to know!! :)

*EDIT
I totally forgot to add, if you should feel compelled to join Poupee Girl, it'd be awesome if you could say I (MintSD) referred you. I could use the ribbons ;)
