30 Day Challenge: Day 3

Hey guys!! So, here comes what will probably be one of the more difficult challenges for me in the 30-day Challenge: 10 things I hate in Lolita. Why will this be so hard? Well, honestly... I'm not really picky. I like most everything about Lolita, from the dresses adorned with bows upon bows that Angelic Pretty makes to the dark, Gothic prints Moi Meme Moitie puts out. Some of it might not be my style, sure, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
So, many of these are going to be no-brainers, or only loosely related to Lolita. I apologize for that, but please enjoy nonetheless!!
As usual, here's a run-down of the challenge:
Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.
Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.
Day 4 – 10 different kinds of food you like.
Day 5 – 10 items from your wishlist.
Day 6 – 10 things you can’t live without in lolita.
Day 7 – 10 people who inspire your lolita style.
Day 8 – 10 songs that inspire you for lolita.
Day 9 – 10 things you will never do in lolita.
Day 10 – What’s in your bag?
Day 11 – One day in your lolita life in pictures.
Day 12 – A picture of yourself before lolita came in to your life.
Day 13 – A picture of your favorite sweets.
Day 14 – A picture of your dream item.
Day 15 – A picture of your last lolita purchase.
Day 16 – Your outfit for the day.
Day 17 – What do you want more then anything right now?
Day 18 – A picture of your favorite lolita style.
Day 19 – What’s in your make-up bag?
Day 20 – A picture of a lolita friend.
Day 21 – Your favorite fictional lolita.
Day 22 – A picture of your room.
Day 23 – A picture of your handwriting.
Day 24 – A picture of you from a meet.
Day 25 – Your favorite lolita themed artwork.
Day 26 – Your Facebook profile picture.
Day 27 – One song that fits your favorite lolita style.
Day 28 – A picture of the perfect lolita location.
Day 29 – A picture of a lolita you would love to meet for real.
Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.

1.) Lace monsters!! I know these aren't even technically considered Lolita, so I guess what I should be saying is that it bugs me when people call them Lolita. I know lots of people don't know any better, but when an un-informed friend or relative excitedly shows me a picture of a Milanoo Lolita and says "Look Kaley!! It's that Lolita thing you like!" I just can't help but think "Do they really think my dresses resemble THAT?" I don't want to sound like a jerk, because frankly any interest my friends or relatives take in my fashion is great to me, but... it just bothers me.

2.) Rude people! Although this applies everywhere... Although I'm constantly defending the character of the community, as most of the people I've met have been nothing but nice, there are, of course, a few jerks on EGL. I hate running into people like that, because I feel like since most Lolitas are older, we should all be mature enough to keep our manners in check. In other words... these people make me lose faith in humanity, I guess you could say xD

3.) There has been ONE print I've truly disliked, and that would be that neon cupcake print Angelic Pretty put out a while ago (I can't even remember the name!!). With most prints, while I might not like some parts, I can almost always see the charm (ie, the cute little animals in Happy Garden, the rarity of Iron Gate), but with that print... I just don't see it. At all. Maybe it's because I don't like neon shades?

4.) Knee socks! I love how they LOOK, but I just hate wearing them, because I always end up spending half my time adjusting them.
...Which is why I usually stick to tights. :P

5.) The price!! I know I've said before I think the price is necessary, but... I would like it if Lolita was cheaper. Certainly not lower in quality, which is realistically what would have to happen, but I'd like to be able to afford a dress without having to scrounge and save for months.

6.) Some public reaction. I LOVE some reactions, especially those from elderly people or little kids, but sometimes... I just want to wear my frills in peace. Without any catcalls or excessive staring, please. I know it's unrealistic to think I could dress like a giant cupcake and expect NOT to get stares, but I can dream, can't I? :P

7.) How difficult it is to wash some Lolita!! I have quite a few dresses that HAVE to be dry-cleaned, and let me tell you, it is such a pain to have to haul those dresses to the dry cleaners every few weeks and it just kills my budget to have to pay for it!! I wish everything could just be machine washed and line dried, but I know that would kill a bunch of my prints...

Well, honestly... that's really all I can think of when it comes to what I hate in the fashion!! Truly, I do love this fashion a bit too much. The community is great and full of wonderful people, the dresses are super diverse and range from cute and sweet to dark and enchanting, and for the most part, wearing it is SO much fun!! Sorry for the premature ending here, but I'll definitely be able to fill all 10 spots tomorrow!! It's about food! I love food!!
